Biedenharn Museum & Gardens

The Biedenharn Museum & Gardens is located in Monroe’s historic Garden District, a tree-shaded business and residential neighborhood featuring homes in a variety of architectural styles, surrounded by beautiful lawns and gardens. 
 
City of Monroe buses stop on North Third Street, behind the museum, seven days a week, and the Monroe City Trolley stops in front of the museum on Saturday and Sunday.
 
Westbound on Interstate 20 (coming from Vicksburg, Jackson, Atlanta)
Take 117-C/Civic Center Exit and turn right onto Lea Joyner Expressway, at the bottom of the ramp. Continue straight on Lea Joyner, which becomes North Sixth Street. Continue on Sixth, through Monroe’s Garden District, until it dead ends at Forsythe Avenue. Turn left onto Forsythe, drive four blocks to where it dead ends at Riverside Drive. Turn left onto Riverside, go one block and turn left onto Speed Avenue.  The Biedenharn’s main parking lot will be on the left, in the middle of the block, behind the Coke Museum.
 
Eastbound on Interstate 20 (coming from Ruston, Shreveport, Texas)
Take 116-B/Civic Center Exit.  Stay to the left heading East and turn left onto Lea Joyner Expressway (third intersection after exiting). Go under the I-20 bridge. Continue straight on Lea Joyner, which becomes North Sixth Street. Continue on Sixth, through Monroe’s Garden District, until it dead ends at Forsythe Avenue. Turn left onto Forsythe, drive four blocks to where it dead ends at Riverside Drive.  Turn left on Riverside, go one block and turn left on Speed Avenue. The Biedenharn’s main parking lot is located on the left, in the middle of the block, behind the Coke Museum.
 
Northbound on Highway 165 (coming from Columbia, Alexandria)
Take the Shreveport Exit to Interstate 20 West. Take Exit 117-C/Civic Center exit.  Turn right onto Lea Joyner Expressway, at the bottom of the ramp. Continue straight on Lea Joyner, which becomes North Sixth Street. Continue on Sixth, through Monroe’s Garden District, until it dead ends at Forsythe Avenue. Turn left onto Forsythe, drive four blocks to where it dead ends at Riverside Drive. Turn left onto Riverside, go one block and turn left on Speed Avenue. The Biedenharn’s main parking lot is on the left, in the middle of the block, behind the Coke Museum.
 
Southbound on Highway 165 (coming from Bastrop, Arkansas)
Turn right on Forsythe Avenue Extension, continue on Forsythe for 3.8 miles to where it dead ends at Riverside Drive.  Turn left onto Riverside, go one block and turn left onto Speed Avenue.  The Biedenharn’s main parking lot is on the left, in the middle of the block, behind the Coke Museum.
 
From Antique Alley in West Monroe
Go north on Trenton Street to Bridge Street. Turn right and go over the Lea Joyner Memorial Bridge. Note: Bridge Street becomes Louisville Avenue (US Hwy 80). At the fourth traffic light, turn left onto North Third Street, drive 12 blocks to Speed Avenue and turn left.  The Biedenharn parking lot will be on your right, in the middle of the block, behind the Coke Museum.
