Join us for opening night of the NELA 5th Annual Scarecrow Competition on October 3rd and vote for your favorite display until October 7th. Opening Night: Tuesday, October 3 | 3-8 pm | $5 per person Displays will remain up in the garden for voting until October 7th

Join us for a spooky good time at the 5th Annual NELA Scarecrow Competition at the Biedenharn Museum and Gardens, October 3 – 7, 2023. The event features area non-profits creating imaginative and fun Halloween displays, celebrity judges, and games in the garden.
- Opening Night - Tuesday, October 3rd | 3:00 – 8:00pm |$5 per person - Featuring Scarecrow displays, a variety of games in the garden, and opportunities for guests to win meals at local restaurants.
Master of Ceremonies: Sheila Snow (VP of Communications, Discover Monroe | West Monroe)
- Celebrity Judges Award - The evening’s high point is the Celebrity Judges’ Award Ceremony at 7:30pm. Four area celebrities, to be announced later this summer, will vote on the best display. The winning organization will receive $500 for their Non-Profit. Second and third-place finishers receive plaques.
- People's Choice Award - Beginning opening night, visitors can view and vote for their favorite Scarecrow. Each guest receives a ticket to vote for their favorite display; extra votes can be purchased for $5.00 each. Voting will continue through Saturday, October 7 at 5 pm. The winner will be announced Monday, October 9 at 10:00 am.

This competition is open to regional non-profits - we are accepting 30 entries on a first come, first serve basis.
Participation is free and winning organizations may take home a cash prize to serve your mission!
Display set up begins Monday, October 2 at 9 am.
